The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) requires a permit on construction cranes any time that they
will exceed a 100:1 sloped surface from the nearest point of the nearest runway
out to 20,000 feet or 200 feet AGL (above ground level) beyond.
The FAA requires that
Form 7460-1 be submitted at least 30 days before or more either before
the date the proposed construction is to begin, or the date an application
for a construction permit is to be filed.
