 September Golf Tip

September Golf Tip From DAA's Prairie Landing Golf Club. Want To Hit It Further? Switch Drivers! - By Andrew Wood. Almost every golfer in the world wants to hit the ball further, yet 90% of amateurs are armed with equipment that robs them of distance rather than helping them! There are two important factors in determining the right clubs for your game: shaft flex and loft. Over the last decade I have gradually given up the badge of honor I thought it required to get a 7-degree driver airborne! Slowly but surely I have gone up in loft to 8.5, 9.5 and now after my latest stint on the Titlelist ball launch machine and a Nike golf seminar, I have settled on a 10-degree driver. I have also switched from an X shaft back to a S. The result is I am not only hitting it longer than ever but also straighter. Many pros on tour use R-flex shafts and according to Nike both Tiger and David Duval have gone up in loft a couple of degrees. Forget the ego and try a 10 or 11-degree driver with a regular shaft and a 90 compression ball. If you would like help with your game, please call Prairie Landing's Golf Pro Brian King at 630-202-4653 or email bking@prairielanding.com.
